PERSONAL HISTORY:
My name is Linda Kula, owner and designer of Visions of Silk Wedding Floral Artistry. My husband (Bob) and I are long time residents of Cedar Rapids. I can't wait to show you our services, special pricing, and wonderful creations for your wedding!!
I have always been in the arts and graduated from Central College in Pella, Ia. with a degree in music ed. and vocal performance.
My first mother in law was my mentor and inspiration. She and her family moved from Chicago to Cedar Rapids where she continued the floral business. I was fascinated with the industry, and she trained me in composition, design of bouquets, plus all items for weddings. I was a teacher at the time and found it difficult to do both. However, I kept my hand in the business by doing friends' weddings, creating professional floral designs for homes, and retail wreaths and grave decor for the holidays.
FOUNDING BUSINESS:
In 2010, I decided I would stop teaching and lay a foundation for a floral business. I researched and planned to open in 2011 while brushing up on floral skills, styles, doing mini bridal shows, plus small weddings. At the beginning of 2012, I participated in a large bridal show in down town Cedar Rapids, and VOILA!, the business took off immediately!!

Each year is new and challenging, and I love meeting with couples planning their floral vision for the wedding. It has been non stop since then and is a FULL TIME business.
FLORAL ASSISTANTS:
I have assistants that create boutonnieres and corsages under my direction, prep flowers for bouquets and other items, plus package the weddings for pick up or delivery. I've been very fortunate to have such wonderful assistants work with me.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
The business is home/family based with a large SPACE for inventory, ( I can access colors and flowers if I don't have them in stock.) There is an area for free consultations, and a work room. I prefer this location because I can serve one bride at a time, giving them my full attention. WE also do online consultations for your convenience. Brides get to proof their flowers before the wedding day so there are no surprises!
LOCATION - 7 DAYS A WEEK:
I am open 7 days a week. (view our hours on website.) Please make an appointment for in house or on line! Assisting couples with their wedding flowers is my “passion”, not a job!! I hope that I can assist you with your special day!! I will do so with great care!!
